This is the 2nd annual USAT Sanctioned youth race at Lake Tye Park in Monroe. This race is guaranteed to be fun for the first timer to the “experienced” youth. This course is flat and fast and great for all the family to watch or participate with your young one.
Kids Triathlon: 
Ages: 6-15 years old
All finisher will receive finisher award medals. 
Cost:
Registration for youth is $20
Late Registration $25 after 7/27
$10.00 additional fee for non-USAT members.
Online Registration will close on August 10th, 2012 at noon. There will be race day registration for an additional $10.
Distances: 
6 – 8 year olds: 50 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
9 – 10 year olds: 50 yard swim, 1.5 mile bke, 1 mile run
11 – 12 year olds: 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run
13 – 15 year olds: 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run
Floatation devices are allowed. Parents are encouraged to participate with their youth to cheer them on along the way.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST:Local fireman representing Ryans Solution will be on hand to provide a yummy pancake breakfast for a $5 donation to their charity.
Course:
- Swim: The swim starts from the sandy beach of Lake Tye. There will be separate waves starting 3 minutes apart. Number of waves is determined by the final number of registrants. The swimmers will make a counter-clockwise loop arond 2 bouys.
- Bike: The bike course is contained within the park and heads North on the trail making a counter clockwise loop around the lake.
- Run: The runners are contained within the park (older kids head out on a portion of the paved trail). running on trails throughout the park.
Packet pick up:
Lake Tye Park Gazebo - In the week prior to the event, you will receive a confirmation email that lists your bib number an registration email. Pre-packet pick up is at Lake Tye Park gazebo. You are strongly encouraged to pick up on Friday night August 10, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Packet pick-up, also available day of race, at the gazebo.

Parking: Parking access will be limited due to earlier events. Please plan to arrive at least 1.5 hr prior to start of race.
Transition Area: The YOUTH TRIATHLON Transition Area is open to families to help with their kids. Please, try to keep spectators or family members inside the transition area to a minimum.
